Amazing Christmas Love.

As I sit and write and reflect on the last fourteen days, I am amazed. I sent off two envelopes today to Operation Blessing International. In them is the money for TWO wells to be built in Makiah's name. What an amazing blessing this is, and a beautiful gift. By giving you are comforting a hurting family: a family who lost their only child. By giving you are providing many families the water they desperately need to be healthy and survive. By giving, there will be a plaque of dedication on these two wells with Makiah Kaitlyn King's inscription and a verse from God's Word. Please continue to pray as Rachel and Cameron choose a verse and a site for the wells. I will continue to update this site as news comes in. OBI has stated it takes 6-8 months for the well to be dug after the money is received. I continue to believe that Makiah's legacy through water wells and Operation Blessing International is not over. Let's build another well!

MAKIAH KAITLYN KING

The money is in for the first well, and will be mailed to Operation Blessing International in the morning. I am so amazed!! I was telling my children just two short weeks ago about this project. I told them I believed that we were supposed to raise money for a well for Makiah. Anna said, "I believe there will be a well by Christmas." My heart wanted to believe it too. My daughter took a step of faith by giving all her birthday money toward the well project. Makiah gave all the money in her piggy bank. Isn't that what this season, the season of Christ's birth, is all about?.....giving. Those of you who gave, partnered with Makiah to bring clean water to needy people, needy children across the world. The message of the LIVING WATER is coming to those people as well. I pray that each person that takes a drink from Makiah's Well will invite Jesus Christ to reside in their thirsty hearts. I pray that people will be sent to minister and preach God's Word to them. I pray that many others will give toward building wells in Makiah's memory, as her legacy to all of us. I pray that we will believe.

A DRINK OF WATER

This morning I totalled the amount given to Makiah's Well to date.....$1725!!!!! We are SEVENTY-FIVE DOLLARS AWAY from building Makiah's FIRST well. Thank you for your generosity. If you still want to give, please do. Once the first $1800 is collected it will be mailed in to fund the first well. Then, any additional money collected will be held in hopes for a second, a third, a FOURTH WELL!!! Several people have asked about a print-out for giving to Makiah's Well in memory or as a gift to someone. Prayer is Powerful...

Just wanted to let you know that God is at work. My prayer time this morning consisted of giving it all to the Lord AGAIN! Knowing that I am so inadaquate to accomplish anything without His strength and joy. The humdrum of life can become a monotonous lullaby, rocking your spirit to sleep. I don't want to sleep through it! I want to live it!
Anyway, to the amazing thing. Yesterday, there were no donations made to Makiah's Well, and I was discouraged. I know that this desire to see Makiah's wishes come true is not only my own, but our Heavenly Father's as well. This is Makiah's legacy; the things that will be accomplished even though her short time with us is lost.
We have received $570 in donations today, making it the biggest donation-day since the fund was created! We are now TWO-THIRDS of the way to building Makiah's well. Please pray with me. It is God's work that we are partnering with and HE WILL DO IT!
I Thessalonians 5:24 " The one who calls you is faithful, and HE will do it."

UPDATE!! $650 has been raised so far between paypal and checks. We are over one-third of the way to building a well by Christmas! Makiah's Fund Expanded

An update: As of tonight there has been about $525 raised for Makiah's Well. I have attachments available for water bottles as well. Please e-mail me and I'll send out a Word document that is easy to print on your computer or that can be taken to a copy center. My faith is being expanded. Anna, my 9 year old daughter, told me that she was believing that a well would be dug by Christmas. I'm believing that God will bring the donations in to make that happen. Thank you for your generosity and the love being shown to the King family. LET'S BUILD A WELL!
I thought it was so neat when I was searching for a key verse to use for the water project. " He will lead them to springs of living water." Revelation 7:17 will be the key verse, but the complete verse is "For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their Shepherd; He will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."

Makiah Kaitlyn King's Well Project

Dear Friends,

In October of this year, the lives of my best friend and her husband, Rachel and Cameron King, were changed forever when a teenage driver under the influence of marijuana struck their vehicle. They were just a few miles from home when they lost their precious 4 and a half year old daughter, Makiah Kaitlyn King, in the wreck. Two weeks prior to the accident, Makiah brought her piggy bank to Rachel and said she wanted to give all her money to the African well project her preschool class was raising money for. She wanted the boys and girls to have safe water like she had. Every 14 seconds someone in the world dies of a disease contracted from unsafe water. Makiah's story has inspired many people who want to share in her dream. I believe that by providing the most basic of necessities, the door will be opened to share the gospel of the living water to these villages.
Would you consider donating to Operation Blessing International in Makiah's memory by donating to a well project? The cost for one well to be dug is $1800 and includes a plaque with her photo and an inscription chosen by her parents. There are a couple of ways you can help achieve this goal; a goal that I believe is not just Makiah's or her parents' goal, but the desire of our loving Heavenly Father; that all people would hear the gospel and know of His geat love and provision of our needs. Here's how you can help build a well.

1. Pray about how you can partner with us to build Makiah's Well. Maybe you could pass out water bottles and have people collect loose change in them to donate. Maybe you could sell water bottles at a community or church event and donate the proceeds. Be creative! 100% of these gifts would go toward building Makiah's Well.
2. Write a 100% tax deductible gift in the form of a check made out to Operation Blessing International. On the note portion, write "Makiah King Well Project." Mail the check to:

When we collect $1800 for the well, the checks will be mailed in at the same time. Operation Blessing International will send out individual tax receipts. Make sure your name and address are on your check.

What better Christmas present to honor our King and the life of a little girl who understood that giving to the needy was at the heart of the source of LIVING WATER.
